I think it is important for people to be informed and know what their options are so they can grow and develop and embrace new opportunities. I think career cushioning isn’t a bad thing as long as you are still personally invested in your existing job. At least you know what is out there in case something happens. And sometimes it will reaffirm that where you are and the job you have really is the best place to be.

At my previous job I saw career cushioning. People like to keep their options open just in case……
