HRIS Systems

Just did a demo with BambooHR – pretty impressive portal for HR purposes. US based. Features onboarding/offboarding capabilities, timecards, tracking. I’m looking for payroll uploads…not sure it would suit my purpose.

I have used a number with different strengths.

I most recently lead an implementation of UKG (amalgamation of Ultimate Software and Kronos) Pro and Ready. I liked the look and easy feel of the system. We used it for payroll, finance allocation, demographics, HR uploads, time & attendance, and paid time off. Employees were easily able to access their T4s and pay statements, and we were just working on ROE access when I left.
Prior to that we had ADP Workforce Now, which was fine but not robust enough for what we needed in time management. We only ever launched payroll.
I’ve also lead a reconfiguration of Quadrant HR, which I loved only because we had full control of all customizations, calculations, etc. We also had an internal team that was responsible for development so the work load was manageable. Not likely for a small team.Viewing 8 reply threads-
Thank-you for the information… I’ve heard good and bad about UKG but going to have a look into the online timecard piece!

I brought BambooHR to the company. It is filled with various components. It also handles performance reviews. The onboarding and offboarding feature is also great.

We currently have HRISMyWay which works great for the timesheet and payroll functions. We are now testing HRBamboo to see if it will work for the rest of our HR needs. So far it seems ok. Its a free trial which not a lot of company’s offer which leaves me to believe they must really stand by their product.

We use Ceridian Dayforce as our HRIS system. It is module driven and for it to work as designed, you do need some core modules. As with any HRIS system, there is nothing perfect but some come close. It is a matter of what you need, what you can get and llive with, and, of course, the cost.

Choosing an HRIS system will always come down to cost. Always do your research – find out what you can’t live without, what you can live without, and what would be nice to have. Be specific in questions you ask – give some examples of what you need, and don’t let someone tell you that “it’s in the works” because it could take a long time to get what you want.
happy hunting and researching – don’t rush and give yourself lots of time for research (at least 6 months) and then the same amount of time for converting to a new system. This is not a quick process if you want it done right.Viewing 8 reply threads
