The information in this article and associated links is “so staring us in the face” as we transition to a form of what new work structures are appearing to be. The perceived expectations on either side (employee/employer) is now the work to ensure that work-life balance becomes a major contributing factor to productivity and healthy living.
I believe companies are doing their best in most instances, nevertheless in the world of competition, economic supply and demand, embracing new technologies and cutting edge demands among other factors it seems the picture of a parent saying to a child ” you will get the new pair of sneakers (which is much needed) but we will need to wait until I get paid next Friday”; only to find next Friday the pay was short due to “other circumstances outside of their control” . This is seeming like a death spiral where maybe only radical change can point to a new path/paradigm.
I am very hopeful that however slow the so needed change will begin to emerge with a domino effect.
2 years agoFlexible working hours along with ability to attend family events is a great way to balance work and family demands. Family demands are not always planned and as an employer it is key that you appreciate that and provide flexibility.
2 years agoFinding a way to connect with coworkers and staff is so important after 2 years of working remotely and being disconnected. Managers need to take time to personally connect with staff and gauge where they are at, what their needs are and set some new goals/expectations. Rebuilding the team in a new way will require some creativity.
