Most organizations offer an Employee and Family Assistance plan as part of their benefits package. I’ve worked at two organizations that offered in-person support through what we called Care Partners. The service was created to be very similar to Workplace Chaplains in the USA but without the religious association. The Care Partners visited the worksites regularly so employees met them and interacted with them personally. Because of this relationship, it was easier and more comfortable for our employees to reach out when they were struggling and needed support. The strict confidentiality of their interactions with the Care Partners was maintained and no information was shared with the company. Our employees found incredible value in this additional benefit that we offered to them.

Staff are encouraged to talk to their manager or director, or if they are not comfortable they can talk to our HR Manager. We also have an EAP that will allow them to find resources and get assistance anonymously.
