Prioritizing and positive self-talk. If my inbox or to-do list is quite full at the beginning of the day I know that it will be much improved by the end of the day, no matter how hard it might be to imagine that at 8 am. Make sure you run through and see what is most important or time-sensitive and do those first. Anything that can be done easily and in a short amount of time can be done next. That just helps to shorten the lists quickly and give you a little boost. Thirdly, just start chipping away at your tasks. It also doesn’t hurt to have a friend at work to talk to when things are really stressful. Always take your breaks. I would rather stay 30-60 minutes late at the end of the day than skip my lunch break. I use that to get away from my desk and chip away at my personal to-do list. 🙂
